About me

Marina Sequeira Costa

I always enjoyed the experience of creating and the wonderful journey it takes you on. I grew up in a multicultural and multilingual environment and have many happy memories of creating pieces of art throughout my childhood.

My enjoyment for art led me to pursue an Art Education, earning several degrees in various fields of Visual Arts, such as Graphic Design, Drawing and Painting along with language training, being fluent in English, Portuguese and French.

During my working years at the Berardo Museum, where I developed Art Education Programs for children in the community, I found this was a perfect way to channel my creativity alongside with my love of working with children.

This project was a huge success and I gained plenty of experience in planning and teaching innovative art lessons to my classes as well as other art projects and workshops I set up, where I taught art history or artist based lessons in local modern art museums.

20 years and 5 children of my own later, I am now able to fulfil my dream to pass this passion on to other children and art lovers in combining Art and teaching, together in the form of Start with Art. Club.

Start with Art was created to fill the need for children, teenagers and adults who want to learn more about art and benefit from being able to express, develop and discover their creativity whilst being given the time, support and artistic passion to create some fantastic pieces of work.

Mission

Start with Art Club

Start with Art is an art club that offers its students the opportunity to develop their inner universe, providing them with new cognitive experiences, and the means to express their creativity in a fun and relaxed environment, where they learn about art and its history, its currents and movements, its various fields and techniques, in order to produce their own masterpieces.

This club is for all children and teenagers - and also for adults - who have a particular artistic talent or who would just like to explore their creative aptitude, with the encouragement to do it in a structured and programmed way, and in an appropriate and supported environment.
